Dear Parent/Carer,
As you know Aspire was inspected for the first time under the new Ofsted framework on Wednesday, 5th and Thursday, 6th June, 2024. The report is now available on the school website - /information/latest-ofsted-report
There are four categories in an Ofsted Inspection; Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development and Leadership & Management.
The school has been graded as GOOD in 3 out of the 4 areas. As can be seen from the report there is a lot to celebrate and we are rightly proud of these achievements. However, we are still developing the new curriculum that was installed following the transition from a 3-year KS4 to a 2-year KS4 and our overall attendance remains a limiting factor. There is a correlation between low attendance to school (below 96%) and student progress.
With the release of the Ofsted Report the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) intend to hold a feedback meeting on Tuesday 23rd July from 5.00pm-6.00pm in the Main Hall. The format of the meeting will include a short presentation from me, followed by an opportunity for parents and carers to ask questions.
To make the event as informative as possible please complete the Google Form to confirm your details, intention to attend the meeting and any questions you wish to send in advance.
Questions sent in advance allow me to include common themes in the presentation, so that it is as informative as possible. The SLT will also take open questions on the evening. In addition, breakout spaces will be available for more private discussion regarding specific queries.
Yours faithfully,
John Woods
Headteacher
